Chateau de Briat Armagnac Hors d’Age
- Armagnac distilled at Château de Briat in the village of Mauvezin-d’Armagnac in the Bas-Armagnac appellation
- A blend of 45% Colombard, 45% Baco, and 10% Folle Blanche
- Single distilled on a wood-fired alambic Armagnacais (short copper column still)
- Aged 15 years in a combination of new and used oak in Château de Briat’s historic chai
- Cask No. 139; bottled on September 23, 2022
- A rich yet elegant nose exhibits almond paste, slivered almonds, concord grapes, and a touch of lavender and powdered sugar before turning to a sharp palate of lovage and white pepper. A snap of mint on the finish is underscored with the subtlest note of caramelized cinnamon-raisin-bread crust.
